Complete audio of the interview with Anne Bean
Anne Bean has been a distinctive and original voice in performance for the last fourty years. Her solo works have been seen all over the world and her permanent works still grace various sites including the National Archive at Kew. From Greenwich a laser thread of light delineates the night sky at 0 Degrees and is reflected in the tidal Thames. Anne has twice received the Time Out Award for performance art, once for her long- standing contribution to live art and then as a founder member of the legendary Bow Gamelan Ensemble with Paul Burwell and Richard Wilson. In 2010, she was awarded a Legacy: Thinker in Residence Award by the Live Art Development Agency and Tate Research. She curated and performed in TAPS: Improvisations with Paul Burwell presented by Matt’s Gallery at Dilston Grove, a day of bridled chaos and projected mayhem to honour Paul’s memory.
